> A view that never stands still: water, passing boats and a skyline still being built across the channel. Why the outlook, the breeze and a few careful plan decisions make Creek Residences a building worth coming home to.

Some buildings are beautiful for what they are. Creek Residences is beautiful mostly for what it looks at. The tower faces the channel that divides Hulhumalé Phase 1 from Phase 2, and its channel-side homes open onto a view that is never quite the same twice: the colour of the water through the day, boats crossing, and on the far bank a skyline that is still being built. The rest of the design, from the balconies to the kitchens, is arranged to let residents make the most of that.

## A view with movement in it

At Creek the developer describes the outlook from the waterfront side as unobstructed and panoramic, and the thing that makes it more than a postcard is that it moves. The water changes with the light. Boats go past. Across the channel, the developer notes, the Phase 2 skyline is expanding, which means a tenant who stays a few years watches a new part of the city rise from the balcony.

Not every home looks at the water. The plans divide between channel-view homes on the waterfront side and park or city views on the other, and the difference is worth deciding on deliberately: the channel for the drama, the park side for green and a different light. Where both are on the market, the concierge arranges to show them on the same visit.

## The breeze

The developer's first promise for the building is peace, serenity and clean air, away from the bustle of the city, and the position is what delivers it. Because the tower faces open water rather than another tower, the developer promises a continuous breeze off the channel. On a balcony that is the difference between a place you pass through and a place you sit.

The plans include private balconies and living rooms the developer describes as spacious; the combination makes the outdoors part of the flat rather than an afterthought bolted to it.

## Plans with a point of view

Creek is a building that makes choices. Its kitchens are enclosed rather than open, a decision that suits households who cook seriously and do not want the smell of it in the sofa. Its plans run from two to four bedrooms, from about 1,064 square feet to more than 1,600, and some include a separate maid's room, which gives a family with a helper privacy on both sides.

The homes Binga has listed show what owners do with that shell. One three-bedroom of 1,300 square feet is presented with bespoke interiors to match its panoramic channel view. Another of 1,400 square feet is fully furnished and ready to live in. Neither needed the view to be improved; they were furnished to sit well beside it.

## What surrounds the flat

Beauty in a building is also what you share. The developer describes Creek as a home ecosystem rather than an apartment block, and lists infinity pools, a fully equipped gym and children's play areas; event halls and rooftop or designated barbecue areas; and an on-site convenience store. Outside, public parks, mosques and waterfront walking paths are close by.

The catalogue calls the building a benchmark for luxury living, which is the developer's word to use rather than ours. What the concierge would say is narrower and more useful: at Creek you come home to water, air and space on a balcony, and those do not date.
