# A day at home at The RISE

> An early run on the jogging trail, a morning at The Workshop, the children in Crawl Space and Kid's Zone, and an evening in The Nest. A day at The RISE by Fedo, as its facilities are designed to be used.

The RISE by Fedo was designed so that a good part of the day can happen inside the building: exercise, work, children's play and the evening with friends. This is how a weekday might run for a household there, built on what the developer says the building provides. Binga has not yet let a home at The RISE, so this is a reading of the design rather than a tenant's account.

## Early

The day can start on the private jogging trail, which is rare in a Hulhumalé residential building, or in the fully equipped gym. By the time the rest of the household is up, the main pool is there for a swim before work.

Back in the apartment, the balcony is the first stop. Every home at The RISE has one, facing the garden or the ocean depending on the plan. The laundry is in its own room, so the machine can run while breakfast is made without either getting in the way.

## Morning

This is where The RISE differs from most buildings. If you work from home, you do not have to work at home. **The Workshop** is a purpose-designed workspace with a library and multi-function rooms. It gives a remote worker or a student a desk with a door downstairs, and a meeting room when a call needs one.

For parents of young children, the building has two dedicated play areas: **Crawl Space** for infants and **Kid's Zone** for toddlers. The separate kids' pool means a young child's first lessons in the water do not share space with adults swimming lengths.

## Midday

The developer describes a boutique retail mall of more than fifty vendors, with dining, banks and other essential services, at the building's doorstep. If it is trading as described, lunch, an errand at the bank and the week's small needs can all be dealt with without a car. The desk has not yet verified which vendors are open, and a viewing is the time to walk through.

The concierge service in the building is there for the things a building concierge usually handles. Ask at viewing exactly what it covers.

## Afternoon

Outside the building, the catalogue places The RISE on the Hulhumalé waterfront near Tree Top and next to the MPL terminal mosque. The neighbourhood guide describes Hulhumalé as the planned island across the bridge from Malé, with wider streets, parks and the beach, fifteen to twenty-five minutes to the capital by road. Private parking at the building means a car or motorbike is there for the school run or the drive into Malé.

## Evening

The evening has more choices than most buildings offer. **The Nest**, with its swinging hammocks and comfortable seats, is for sitting back. **The Hangout** is for meeting neighbours. Billiards and karaoke rooms make a birthday or a visit from friends an evening in the building rather than a booking elsewhere.

Or the evening stays in the apartment, on the balcony, with the garden or the ocean in view, depending on which side you chose.

## Who this suits

The developer names young professionals and families as the building's intended residents, and the facilities support that. It suits families with babies and toddlers especially, remote workers who want a proper workspace, and households who like a social building. With 53 homes across ten floors, it is small enough to know your neighbours. It suits less those who want a very large gym or the beach at the door; the catalogue promises neither.
