What makes Blue Haven beautiful to come home to
A fourteen-storey tower of 116 homes by RCC in Hulhumalé, built around high ceilings, an unbroken flow from living room to bedroom, and, on the upper floors, the turquoise of the channel. What the building gets right.

Blue Haven Residencies is a single tower of fourteen floors and 116 apartments in Hulhumalé, built by Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC). What makes it pleasant to come home to is not one grand gesture but a set of quiet decisions: high ceilings, layouts drawn so that the living room, the dining table and the bedrooms flow into one another, and, from the upper floors, a view of the channel that the listings keep returning to.
The shape of the rooms
The developer's brief is specific about one thing above all: the flow between living, dining and private areas. Plans run from 2+1 and 3+1 apartments up to penthouses, between roughly 900 and 2,000 square feet, and they were drawn for what the brief calls optimal use of space. In practice that means a great room rather than a string of small ones. The fully furnished 2+1 on the twelfth floor that Binga lists describes exactly that: an open-plan living and dining room, a closed modern kitchen beside it, and a smaller room that works as a study or a children's room.
The "+1" is worth dwelling on. It is the room that makes a two-bedroom flat work for a family or for someone who works from home, and at Blue Haven it recurs across the listings: a work room in one, a children's room in another, a multi-purpose room in a third.
High ceilings and sleek finishes complete the developer's picture. Select units have balconies, and the twelfth-floor home has two.
Light, water and height
A tower of fourteen floors changes what the window shows. The listings Binga has handled describe a turquoise channel and a partial sea view from the twelfth floor, and an unobstructed channel view from the tenth. The catalogue sets the tower amid greenery, which is the other half of the view: water from the top, green closer to the ground.
The penthouses are the building's most unusual homes: the developer lists private pools at the top of the tower. For everyone else there is the shared pool, which one of the listings places on the roof.
What the building shares
The developer describes a modern foyer, the first thing you walk through every evening, and commercial spaces within the building. There is a parking garage over three floors, which in Hulhumalé is a real consideration rather than an afterthought, and a fully equipped gym as well as the pool.
Inside the homes Binga has seen
The owners who furnish at Blue Haven tend to furnish with intent. One 2+1 was fitted with custom built-in joinery throughout and a full appliance suite in the kitchen; another was hung with ocean-themed art and given a kitchen equipped for cooking properly rather than reheating. Neither is a showroom. Both are homes someone decided to finish well, and that shows in the rent they ask and the tenants they suit.
The catalogue describes the tower as combining modern design with efficient layouts. Having inspected the homes listed there, the concierge would put it more simply: rooms that are the right size, arranged in the right order, with the water outside.
