What makes Reethigas Residence beautiful to come home to
Three blocks, sixteen floors and two hundred homes on Reethigas Magu, planned for breeze and balconies over Hulhumalé. The quieter beauty of Reethigas Residence: a well-made everyday home rather than a showpiece.

Reethigas Residence does not ask to be admired from the street. It is three blocks of up to sixteen floors on Reethigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase 1, two hundred homes in all, and its beauty is the practical kind: air moving through the rooms, a balcony over the city, a kitchen that opens onto the living space. It is the sort of building that becomes more likeable the longer you live in it.
A building planned around air
The developer's description makes one design promise above the others: apartments engineered for good natural ventilation, with balconies that look out over Hulhumalé Phase 1. In a hot climate, a flat that breathes on its own is worth more than a marble lobby. It changes how a home feels at the hours when the heat breaks, early in the morning and after sunset, when the doors to the balcony stay open and the rooms cool down without being asked.
The balconies are the other half of that promise. The catalogue speaks of city views over Phase 1, and at up to sixteen floors the upper homes look out across the planned island around them. It is not a sea-view tower and does not pretend to be. Its view is of the neighbourhood itself, which, for many tenants, is the more useful thing to look at.
Open kitchens, separate laundries
Inside, the brief is straightforward and well chosen. Open kitchens that join the living area, so whoever is cooking is still part of the room. Separate laundry areas, which keep the washing out of the kitchen and off the balcony. Attached bathrooms, so each bedroom in the multi-bedroom plans has its own. The developer calls these modern essentials; tenants tend to call them the things they missed in their last flat.
The units Binga has seen follow that plan. A semi-furnished three-bedroom on the sixth floor, listed through Binga in July, was described with attached bathrooms to all three bedrooms, a separate laundry room, a fitted kitchen and a private balcony.
The terrace home
The most distinctive home Binga has listed here is a fully furnished three-bedroom with a private terrace, 1,340 square feet, listed in September. It was built as a 2+1 deluxe unit, and its flexible "+1" room is large enough to serve as a third bedroom, a child's room or a home office. The listing's emphasis is on the outdoor space: a terrace that turns a comfortable flat into one with somewhere to sit outside in the evening, which is rarer in Hulhumalé than it should be.
The beauty of ease
What makes Reethigas pleasant to come home to is less a single feature than an absence of friction. The developer describes controlled building entry and modern lifts to every floor, round-the-clock manned security with CCTV, designated motorbike parking and reliable building management. None of that is photogenic. All of it is what a tenant notices on a wet evening with shopping bags, when the gate is attended, the lift arrives and the corridor is clean.
On Reethigas Magu, which the developer describes as a major artery of residential and commercial life on the island, that ease extends outside the front door. A building like this is beautiful the way a well-kept street is beautiful: because it works, every day, without fuss.
