What makes Renaatus IthaaMuiy beautiful to come home to
A ten-storey beachfront building in Hulhumalé, drawn to let in daylight and sea air and to frame the ocean. What the design of Renaatus IthaaMuiy offers the people who live in it.

Renaatus IthaaMuiy is a ten-storey beachfront building in Hulhumalé, and its developer describes it in terms of air and light rather than marble and fittings. The design, in the brief's own words, was meant to maximise daylight and natural ventilation and to frame the best views of the ocean. For a tenant, those are three of the qualities that matter most in a home on a hot island, and three that cannot be added later.
Daylight and moving air
A building planned around natural ventilation is one where windows are placed to let a breeze pass through the rooms, not simply to look out of. In practice that can mean mornings with the windows open and the air-conditioning off, and rooms that do not feel sealed. The developer's emphasis on daylight points the same way: interiors that are bright without artificial light for most of the day.
The desk has not yet been inside an IthaaMuiy apartment, so it cannot say how well each plan delivers on that intention. It is the right intention.
The ocean, framed
IthaaMuiy stands on a beachfront plot of 14,916 square feet. The developer describes views framed towards the ocean, and penthouses at the top of the building with a wide view of the water. A frame is a deliberate thing: it suggests windows and balconies set to catch the sea rather than a neighbouring wall.
A building of a modest size
Seventy-three homes in a single block over ten floors is a manageable community. The developer also describes well-kept grounds with parking and relaxation areas for residents and guests, which gives the building some outdoor space at its foot. It is a residential and commercial building, so there is activity on the lower floors, though the catalogue does not say what those units hold.
What the desk can and cannot say
IthaaMuiy is listed as sold, and Renaatus's later project, Javaahiru, describes it as having sold out quickly. No home in the building has been listed for rent through Binga yet. The unit mix, finishes and balcony layouts are not in the desk's sources. What is known is a building designed around light, air and the sea. When an owner here lets a home through Binga, a concierge will inspect it first, and this page will be updated with what it is actually like inside.
