What makes Renaatus Javaahiru beautiful to come home to

Named for the local word for diamond, Renaatus Javaahiru is a thirteen-storey Hulhumalé building of 111 homes, described by its developer through its interiors: large windows, a calm bedroom, a well-planned kitchen.

Javaahiru is the local word for diamond, and Renaatus chose it for a thirteen-storey building of 111 homes in Hulhumalé. Where many developers describe a building from the outside, this one is described from within: the living room, the bedroom, the kitchen. For a tenant, that is useful, because those are the rooms you actually live in.

Rooms planned around light

The developer describes the living room as spacious, designed for family time and for having guests, with large windows that bring in natural light and give the room a warm, comfortable feel. Large windows are the single feature that most changes a flat in Hulhumalé: they decide whether the day starts bright or under a ceiling light.

The bedroom is described as a quiet retreat, planned for rest and for unwinding. That sounds like brochure language, and it is, but it points to something a tenant can test at a viewing: a bedroom placed away from the living space, where the evening noise of the household does not reach.

A kitchen made for use

The kitchen is described as modern and fully equipped, with ample counter space and storage. Counter space and storage are easy to measure at a viewing, and worth measuring rather than taking on trust.

Materials and making

Renaatus's own copy is written in superlatives: fine materials, careful craftsmanship, attention to detail. The desk reports these as what the developer promises. It has not yet been inside a finished Javaahiru apartment to see how the finishes have worn, and does not repeat the promises as fact.

Shared space

The building has a gym, which the developer describes as well equipped, with modern machines and an open layout. The catalogue does not list a pool or other shared facilities, and the desk has not confirmed any.

What remains to be seen

Javaahiru is listed as sold, and no home in it has yet been listed for rent through Binga. When an owner lets one, a concierge will inspect it first, and the desk will describe the rooms as they are, not as they were drawn.

Sources and method

Prices are asking prices as listed through Binga unless marked achieved, and are dated. Developer descriptions are reported as the developer's own. Facts the desk could not verify are left out. Spotted an error? Write to hello@binga.mv; corrections are noted at the foot of the piece.
