What makes The Apollo Towers beautiful to come home to

Two ten-storey towers on the Hulhumalé beachfront, facing the yacht marina in the developer's description, with a pool, a gym and a children's room designed with real care. What makes Apollo Holdings' towers a pleasant place to live.

The Apollo Towers
The Apollo Towers

The Apollo Towers are two ten-storey buildings on the Hulhumalé beachfront, which their developer, Apollo Holdings, places directly in front of the yacht marina. Between them they hold 97 homes above two floors of shops and services. The beauty here is not a single grand gesture. It is a setting by the water and a set of shared rooms that someone clearly thought about.

Water at the door

Apollo Holdings describes the towers as standing on the Hulhumalé beachfront, facing the yacht marina. A marina changes the view from a balcony: boats coming and going, masts in the evening light, water that is busy rather than empty. The desk has not confirmed which floors or sides of each tower face it, and that is the first thing to ask at a viewing.

Two towers, two uses

Each tower keeps its ground and first floors for commercial space, with the homes above. That separation is part of what makes the arrangement pleasant: the street-level activity stays at street level, and the residential floors begin above it. Parking for cars and motorcycles is on two levels at the rear of the buildings, with visitor spaces in the same area, so the front of the towers is not given over to vehicles.

Rooms designed with care

The shared spaces are where Apollo's catalogue becomes specific, and specificity is usually a sign of care. The children's play area is described in detail: a child-friendly colour scheme, separate zones for activity and for rest, its own washroom, a small double-decker playhouse with reading tents, and desks for reading and colouring. It is a room designed from a child's height.

The gym is given an energetic colour scheme, with separate locker rooms and showers for men and women. The multi-purpose hall is meant for parties and weddings, and also for meetings, a room large enough for the occasions a flat cannot hold. There is a swimming pool; one Binga listing in the building describes it as a rooftop pool.

Inside a home

The one Apollo Towers flat Binga has let so far, a fully furnished two-bedroom, was described in its listing as bright and open-plan, with a modern L-shaped kitchen and a private balcony looking over the neighbourhood. An open plan and a balcony are what make a two-bedroom feel larger than its walls, and the listing leaned on both.

What the desk has still to see

The catalogue does not describe the towers' facades, materials or window designs, and the desk has not yet walked a range of homes across both towers. It reports the marina setting and the facilities as the developer describes them. When more homes come to rent through Binga, a concierge will inspect each one before it is introduced.

Sources and method

Prices are asking prices as listed through Binga unless marked achieved, and are dated. Developer descriptions are reported as the developer's own. Facts the desk could not verify are left out. Spotted an error? Write to hello@binga.mv; corrections are noted at the foot of the piece.

Binga Properties is a real-estate concierge; it may represent homes and developments mentioned here.
